Slim says that he worked as a ranch hand with Milton and Small, and he witnessed many interactions between the men he described to be “as close as brothers.” He was with George the day of the murder. Slim claimed that he saw George a long time after the murder had occurred. Also, he witnessed the aftermath of the murder and says he took George to a bar right after to cheer him up, due to the sadness he was experiencing.

Who is he? Lennie small was born in the Salinas Valley, located in California. He died at the age of 33. George Milton has been charged on the first degree murder of the late Mr. Small. Lennie was George’s best friend as if they were family, also he is a migrant worker with intellectual disabilities who bucks barley and was recently working in the salinas valley ranch. When Lennie’s aunt, also his guardian, passed away George took care of him because George loved Lennie more than Frank (Lennie’s cousin) ever since today they were best friends.

How is he involved? Lennie is the victim in the George milton trail. At the scene there was a dead body verified as Lennie Small who was shot in the back of the head. He is involved because he and George were together since they were young and they didn't have a violent past. Also George had to take care of him he had deal with Lennie and sometimes Lennie caused George trouble. Lennie could have annoyed George and so George might not want to take care of him anymore so he “killed” him. He also supposedly killed Curley’s wife, she was found dead at the ranch with a snapped neck.

Who is he? Frank is a 44 year old man who grew up in California with Lennie and George and his mother who took care of him. He is the small business  owner of Small Hardware. He makes a steady income to support his wife and 16 year old son. His mother died while in his mid-teens and his aunt took over the mother position in his life. The aunt also helped raise Lennie.

How is he involved? Frank is Lennie Small’s cousin they had grown up together and formed a good relationship. He was also good friends with George Milton and oversaw what he thought of as an amazing relationship between two companions. Frank believes that whatever George did was to save Lennie from a worse consequence and therefore is defending George’s actions.

Who is who in the George Milton trial: Who is candy?

Candy is a 73 year old man who was born in California. He currently works as the swamper at the Tyler Ranch, located in Salinas Valley. He has been working as a swamper for 15 years. Candy loved his dog, but he was worried that he couldn't give the dog everything that it needed. He agreed to let Carlson shoot the dog. Carlson quotes “ It was helpful for Candy to let the dog go”. An anonymous source quotes that Candy was “kind, careful and caring.”

How is he involved?

When Lennie was murdered, Candy was in the barn, located on the ranch. Candy states that he is positive that George did it, and that he thinks his side will definitely win. He also stated that George and Lennie had a positive relationship. Candy himself also had a very close relationship to the victim.

Who is he? John Tyler, the owner and Boss of the ranch where Lennie Small and George Milton had arrived to work a couple of weeks earlier, made this firm statement at an interview earlier this week in Salinas Valley. “They didn’t really tell me anything, but I know George lied about Lennie Small”. Mr. Tyler, a man in his mid fifties, who had lived his whole life in the little town of Salinas, is devastated and confused by the two mysteriously tragic murders.

How is he involved? He was the father in law of the other victim that was killed the same day of Lennie’s murder, and was not hesitant when releasing information on his relations with the two young workers. On the day of the murders, he was in the office doing paper work but does not recall when exactly or by who he was notified of the murders. Mr. Tyler’s responsibilities in the farm are working out the numbers and working in the office for most of his day, suggesting he was not as aware of his workers as he could have been. He states, “I am always working on things and don’t have time to worry about what’s going on”. In accordance to that he made it clear that further involvement with his workers would have most likely not made a difference in whether the murders were committed or not. Furthermore Tyler released information on his brief experience, with George and Lennie’s relationship. As he interviewed them for the job of workers at the ranch, he described George as an “oppressive” friend that would not allow Lennie to speak or even say his own name. On the day of the job interview according to Mr. Tyler, George said that he and Lennie where not only friends, but cousins, yet he was unsure of why George would lie about such a thing. In accordance he revealed, “Well Lennie wasn’t a very bright guy.” He added that he thought George was using Lennie to take his pay, more than as a companion for their lives as migrant workers. Lastly he began to describe George as treating Lennie as a child showing negative and suspicious feelings towards George. He added that Lennie was more of an innocent and unaware minion for George, which would have made it easy for him to be murdered. Due to the connection of his daughter in law dying the same day through a murder, he seeks answers and seems to try to find them in George, who becomes his biggest suspicion.

Who is he?: Curley Tyler is a Salinas Valley native who does taxes on his father's ranch, which  he has been living on for his 23 years of life . He says that all of the ranch workers were jealous of his gorgeous, recently deceased wife. He majored in math at Berkeley college, located in New York. Curley is a thoughtful and caring man outside of work, but he says that “The boys need to know who's boss” around the ranch.

How's he involved?: Curley worked with Lennie and George on the ranch. Lennie also broke Curley's hand. In addition to this, he heard the gunshot that took Small’s life, and ran to the scene of the crime. He stated “I was at the scene of the crime because we was all searching for Lennie then we saw ‘im dead on the ground”. Curley is testifying against George. Though he suspects Lennie killed his wife, he would deserve a fair trial and did not deserve to die.
